Frankfurt am Main

And all kinds of seminars, congresses, conferences - it's scary to say, more than 55 thousand every year! No wonder the city received two nicknames (not funny, but respectful): "Bankfurt" and "Mainhattan", Manhattan on the Main. Everything is the same here. The airport is the largest in Europe, a skyscraper 331 meters high is also the leader of European skyscrapers. There are more skyscrapers in the city than in the rest of Germany. But Frankfurt is not only the glass and concrete of new buildings.

The traditions of past centuries are carefully preserved here. The city began to exist in 794, and in 1240, international fairs, medieval, of course, were already held there. In 1585, the famous Frankfurt Exchange began to work here, and in the XVII century the first bank appeared.

Nevertheless, when the tourist’s foot just steps on the platform of Santa Lucia, he immediately smells an amazing Venetian smell of damp and mud, which, however, still conveys a certain romantic spirit.
