Musical Theatre

A distinctive feature of the Musical Theater is the blue dome-shaped roof, which is beautifully illuminated in the evening. It was built in 1996. Basically, musicals are on its stage.

You will certainly notice this unusual building under the blue dome on the banks of the Rhine, right behind the station. This is the Cologne Concert Hall (Musical Dome). On its stage are all the famous musicals. Ben Elton’s musical based on Queen’s songs “We Will Rock You” also came here. However, the schedule of the Musical Theater has both regular concerts and comic shows.

The Musical Theater in Cologne was built in 1996. The construction consists mainly of steel and glass. The roof is made of polyester. The length of the building is 53 m, width - 77 m, height - 27 m. The auditorium seats 1769 people. In the glazed lobby there are bars with drinks, a restaurant, a wardrobe and administrative rooms.
