Knight tournaments will be held in Italy in September

The beautiful Italy will return again in the Middle Ages in September. Numerous jousting tournaments and festivals will be held throughout the country.

Montagnana, September 5-7

 All lovers of the Middle Ages are strongly recommended to go to the Italian ancient town of Montagnana, which is located near Padova (Padova). It is here from September 5 to 7 that an event called Palio will be held. The organizers of the event have long said that the festival program provides for dinner in a medieval castle surrounded by valiant knights and charming noble ladies, arson of a medieval fortress, as well as competitions and horseback riding. San Martino di Lupari, September 6-7

The Palio del Lupi festival will be held in the little-known Italian town of San Martino di Lupari from September 6 to 7. For two days the city will turn into an arena for performances by street masters, as well as competitions of medieval warriors and knights. In addition to the spectacles, the organizers also took care of the “bread” - each visitor will be able to taste the local dishes carefully prepared by the city hostesses. Entrance to the Palio del Lupi is free.

Arezzo, September 7th

On the main square of the cozy town of Arezzo (Arezzo) will take place a full-fledged costume knightly tournament "Battle with the Saracens" (Giostra del Saracino). Eight riders from different quarters of the city will find out which of them owns the spear best of all. The cost of tickets for the performance varies from 4 to 60 euros, depending on the location of seats on the podium. It will be possible to purchase a ticket only on the day of the Battle, however, nonresident and foreign guests of the city are invited to book it in advance (electronic registration is open until August 29).

Monselice, September 7 - October 1

For almost a month, in the picturesque town of Monselice, a series of events will be held dedicated to the Knights' Tournament (Giostra della Rocca) in the castle. Tournament visitors will be able to fully experience the true spirit of the Middle Ages in Monselice by playing chess with living figures, wandering around medieval markets, and also competing in archery.
