The title of Miss Italy 2014 went to the Sicilian Clarisse Marqueze

Meet Miss Italy 2014: Clarissa Marchese. This insanely beautiful girl was born in the province of Agrigento (Agrigento) on the island of Sicily, and now lives in the city of Ribera (Ribera). She is 20 years old, she has brown eyes and brown hair. Clarissa became the eleventh Sicilian to get the Miss Italy title. By the way, the beauties from Sicily for the third year in a row have taken away the crown.

The charming girl managed to convince that she was worthy of the honorary title, several thousand Italians who voted for her, leaving behind very worthy contestants: Sara Nervo from Veneto (second place) and Julia Salemi (Giulia Salemi) from Emilia-Romagna (Emilia-Romagna) (third place).

The daughter of a pizza girl graduated from the Lyceum in 2000 and entered the University of Parma. Now she is studying as a speech therapist and hopes that in the future she will work directly with children. Her motto is: “If you want or want to do something, do it. Start doing it right now.”

Marqueze herself lived in America for some time (her mother is American with Italian roots) and has been dancing for 10 years. At the moment, the girl is fond of running. Clarissa is very attached to her sister Erica, who not so long ago turned 24 years old and who, in turn, proudly declares that she is the most ardent fan of Clarissa.

The ceremony of determining the most beautiful girl in Italy could be watched on the local La7 TV channel, as last year the television giant Rai refused to broadcast the contest, explaining that it is a relic of the past, and also testifies to the inexorable degradation of women. The organizers of the action protested against the decision of the television company, asking the contestants to wear t-shirts with the inscription "nè nude nè mute" (not naked and not stupid). By the way, in 2013, Miss Italy was named the 19-year-old beauty from Sicily, Giulia Arena).

Despite the small scandal that erupted in 2013, Italians still love the contest. This is proved by the fact that despite the crisis, the authorities of many Italian cities still organize local mini-selections, which attract a huge number of spectators. And the beauties themselves are happy to participate in the competition. Every year, the organizers of Miss Italy receive about ten thousand profiles and applications.

The local television company La7 could not leave the inhabitants of the sunny country without the opportunity to choose the most charming and attractive representative of Italy, therefore, last year the contest was broadcast by this channel. However, many journalists claimed that La7 did not do so out of love for Miss Italy, but solely because of material considerations.

For many years of the contest, movie stars and show business have appeared on its stage more than once. So, it is expected that it was once visited by Sophia Loren, Silvana Mangano and Maria Grazia Cucinotta. And the jury was visited by such celebrities as Marcello Mastroianni (Marcello Mastroianni), Claudia Cardinale (Claudia Cardinale), Catherine Deneuve (Catherine Deneuve), Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone.

The organizers of Miss Italy have repeatedly tried to breathe new life into the show, changing some of the rules for its holding. For example, married ladies or women who have children cannot participate in the competition. However, the format of Miss Italy was never changed, which, however, did not affect its popularity at all.

Unopened Basilicata

Basilicata is one of those regions of Italy where the foot of a Russian-speaking tourist rarely steps. Largely guilty of its geographical location and lack of information. The Basilicata includes two provinces of Matera and Potenza. They are located between the regions of Puglia and Calabria and, as it were, sandwiched between them. The region is located in the very south of Italy near the Gulf of Taranto (Ionian Coast), and its western part is washed by the Tyrrhenian Sea.
